Patricia Pethtel

Patricia A. (Newlin) Pethtel of Stoy, IL gently passed away on January 21, 2016 at the age of 80 surrounded by her family in the comfort of her home. She was born April 28, 1935, in Mattoon IL, the daughter of Ova & Ruth (Osborne) Newlin, both of whom preceded her in death. On February 2, 1950, Patty married Winfred “Winnie” Pethtel and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Diana Hanson; an infant daughter; one great grandson; two granddaughters; her sisters & brothers-in-law, Virginia Kemper & Carolyn Dennis and Esther & Jack Kemper; her sister-in-law, Marilyn Newlin; her brother-in-law, Dick Pethtel; and her mother-in-law, Nina York. She is survived by her two daughters & sons-in-law, Bruce & Cathy Meadows (Stoy, IL) and Lori & Randy Wartsbaugh (Stoy, IL); seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter. Patty is also survived by her brothers & sister-in-law, Podge & Linda Newlin (Robinson, IL) and Jim Newlin (Flat Rock, IL); by her brothers-in-law & their wives, Tom Dennis, Dwight & Nina Pethtel, Rick & Linda Pethtel, Tom Pethtel, Dwayne Pethtel, Craig York; one sister-in-law, Gayla & Ray Alspach; as well as several nieces and nephews. Patty owned and operated the Country Kitchen, The Whistle Stop Cafe in Stoy and catering services for eight years. Patty was also employed through the Labor Local #1280 as well as Morris Construction. More recently, she was a part-time janitor at the Crawford County Courthouse. Her life’s passion was music, and she enjoyed playing country music with friends and family. She truly loved and enjoyed her family, and will forever be missed by all who knew her. A time of visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 24th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 25th at the funeral home with Bro. Rick Catt officiating the service. Burial will follow in the Hardinville Cemetery.
