Patricia Irene Saunders

Patricia Irene Saunders, 98, died on April 19, 2025.

She was born on June 19, 1926, in Lawrenceville, IL, and raised in Robinson, IL. Patricia's life was marked by her dedication to her family and her community. Patricia graduated from Robinson High School, married Julian Saunders in 1947, and together, they raised a family in Champaign, IL. She spent much of her life as a devoted stay-at-home mother. She later served as a volunteer at Mercy Hospital and was an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Champaign, IL.

In her leisure time, Patricia was a skilled needlepoint and a participant in her local Bridge Club and dominoes groups. After retirement, her hobbies traveled with her as she and Julian traveled in their RV camper. Patricia's family and friends were central to her life.

She is survived by her children, Julianne Davis (Bob), Betsy Baczkowski (Berney), Mike Saunders (Pat), and Robbie Saunders (Sharon); her grandchildren, John, Kristen, and Misha; and her great-grandchildren, Xander, Logan, Brendan, and Julien.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Julian; her parents, Clifford and Ollie Walters; her sisters, Betty McClure and Jane Siler; her brother Robert; and sons-in-law, Bob Davis and Berney Baczkowski.

Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine, IL, is handling the arrangements. The graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. CST on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Palestine Cemetery, located at 600 S. Leaverton St., Palestine, IL 62451.
