Patty G. Midgett

Patty G. Midgett, 82, of Flat Rock, IL, died at 2:12 a.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the Magnolia Center in Robinson. She was born September 3, 1932 in Honeycreek Township, the daughter of Charles B. Wesley & Florence (Dunlap) Wesley. She worked in production at L.S. Heath & Sons for 5 years. Alongside her family, Patty was an active member of the South Union Church in rural Flat Rock and enjoyed many church activities over the years. She also enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She married Roy D. Midgett on August 14, 1953, and he preceded her in death on May 18, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Billy Joe Wesley and Burl Wesley; and her sisters, Pauline Snider and Barbara Wesley. Patty is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Chuck & Paula Midgett (Flat Rock, IL); her two daughters, Pam Midgett (Flat Rock, IL) and Carla Midgett (Flat Rock, IL); her three grandsons & their spouses, Chris & Emily Midgett (Marshall, IL), Daniel & Ashtin Midgett (Fort Bragg, NC), and Jacob & Brooke Midgett (Robinson, IL); her three great-grandchildren, Vivienne Midgett, Liam Midgett, and Amelia Midgett; four sisters, Norma Butcher (Flat Rock, IL), Shirley Walker (Palestine, IL), Wanda Redman (Flat Rock, IL), Donna and Larry Keeler (Flat Rock, IL); as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 18th at the South Union Church (rural Flat Rock). Burial will follow at the Tohill Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Flat Rock. Memorials may be made to the South Union Church, with envelopes available at the funeral home and church.
