Paul Alan Cornwell, 54 of rural Annapolis, IL, died at 4:25 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2012 at the St. Mary€™s Hospital, Evansville, IN. Paul was tragically injured in an ambulance/truck accident on October 9, 2010 and never recovered.Paul was born November 20, 1957 at Schmidt Clinic in Robinson, the son of Carroll Cornwell and Mable Joan Crabtree Cornwell. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Crabtree Cornwell; his little brother, Carroll Douglas Cornwell; his maternal grandparents; Ross and Mary Crabtree; his paternal grandparents, Ross and Goldia Cornwell; and his step-grandparents; Charles and Doris Jackson.Paul is survived by his father, Carroll Cornwell and his mother, Judy Cornwell, rural Clark County, IL; his sister, Stacey Watson, Robinson; his brothers, Todd (Duska) Cornwell, Charleston, IL and Troy Cornwell, Clark County; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.Paul had been a tug boat/barge hand, a construction worker, and a farm hand. He was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, West York.Paul loved to read, especially his favorite authors, Louis L€™Amour and Max Brand. He loved the beauty of God€™s earth and spent many hours at his Dad€™s log cabin by the pond watching the deer and other wildlife come to drink. It was also his favorite place to read. He liked 4-wheeler riding, being with friends, and enjoyed a variety of music.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 19th at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Home, West Union, IL with Pastor Will Bynum officiating. Burial will be in the Medsker Cemetery, rural Clark County, IL. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 19th at the funeral home preceding the services.
