Paul Eugene Pritts, Sr.

February 14, 1945 — May 10, 2016

Paul Eugene Pritts, Sr., 71, of Robinson, IL, died at 4:40 p.m. on May 10, 2016, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville, IN. He was born February 14, 1945 in Decatur, IL, the son of Williard Monroe Pritts & Margaret Elise Gray. He married Judy (Fish) Hall on December 31, 1987, and she survives. He is also survived by his children, Paul, Jr. & Lisa Pritts (Phoenix, AZ), Todd Pritts & Carol Clark (Robinson, IL), Tina & Sean Fleming (Phoenix, AZ), Anna & Jeff Arnold (Robinson, IL), Henry & Carolina Hall (San Antonio, TX), Kedley Newlin (Lawrenceville, IL) and Kelly Newlin (Lawrenceville, IL); 22 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; by his siblings, Jerry Gray, Elizabeth Greenwell (Evansville, IN), Richard & Louise Pritts (Oblong, IL), James Pritts (Laurel, MD); his ex-wife & ex-husband-in-law, Ingrid & John Monk (Ash Flat, AR); as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; by his siblings, Bobby Gene Pritts (in infancy), Robert Pritts, Nancy Ashbaugh, Williard Pritts, Jr, and Judy Smith; and by grandsons, Dominique Joseph Pritts and Bradley Newlin. Paul lived a very full life. As a young man, he was active with the Jaycees and Young Republicans. He went on to join the Robinson Masonic Lodge #250 and was formerly associated with the Danville Scottish Rite and the Ainad Shrine, and was proud of his time spent as a Shrine Clown. He worked for several local businesses, most notably as co-owner of Judy’s Caf in Robinson and was also one of the first employees at Pioneer Label. He also bartended for several local taverns. Friends and family will miss his quick wit, and his ornery sense of humor, though he was known to push their buttons from time to time. Paul lit up the world around him, and will be missed. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 13th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. A Masonic funeral will follow the visitation and will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home with the Robinson Masonic Lodge #250 performing the service. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 14th at the funeral home with Pastor Shane Bopp officiating the service. Burial will follow in the Robinson New Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
