Paul L. Bass, Sr.

Paul L. Bass, Sr., 95, of Robinson died at 8:53 p.m. on May 5, 2012 at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. He was born November 28, 1916 in Walnut Hill, IL, the son of Learnner Bass and Mary West Bass. He was owner/operator of Independent Core Analysis and worked in the oilfields. He was an active member of the Oak Glen Golf Course, the Robinson Moose, Robinson Elks Lodge #1188, Robinson Masonic Lodge #250, and American Legion Post #69. A St. Louis Cardinal fan, Paul also loved to hunt, fish and spend time with his grandsons. He also enjoyed spending time at Hardee€™s with friends drinking coffee.Paul married Agnes Shaw and she preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his son, Paul Bass, Jr.; 2 brothers, John and Reuben; and his sister, Dorothy.He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Roger & Carole Bass (Newton); 2 grandsons, Ryan Bass (Circleville, OH) and Jonathan Bass (Brookings, SD); and several friends and relatives.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 10th at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson. Burial will be in the Sandy Branch Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the funeral home. Masonic services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday following visitation, with rites conducted by the Robinson Masonic Lodge #250 at the funeral home. Memories and condolences may be shared at .
