Pete Lawhead

Pete Lawhead, 72, of rural Robinson, IL, died at 2:12 a.m. on June 4, 2017 in the comfort of his home. He was born July 25, 1944 in Oblong, IL, the son of Clarence Eugene Lawhead, Sr. & Essie Pauline (Waldrop) Lawhead, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a sister, a half-sister, and a half-brother. He married Pat Ridgway on February 14, 1993, and she survives. He is also survived by a son and a daughter; as well as several half-siblings, extended family members, and special aunt, Clara Waldrop. In his early years, Pete worked in a number of foundries in Michigan before becoming a CDL truck driver, having put countless miles on the road over his 15+ year career. He was an antique tractor enthusiast, and could be found at the Oblong Antique Tractor Show every year. He was a member of the Prairie Grove Baptist Church. Private services have already been held, and burial has taken place in the Wilkin Cemetery. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
