Phyllis (Gray) Dipert, 78, of Robinson, IL, died at 4:45 a.m. (EST) on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. She was born March 6, 1939 in Robinson, the daughter of Arthur Gray & June F. (Garrard) Gray, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Walter L Garrard on September 26, 1980 and he preceded her in death on February 23, 1990. She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Marianne & David Thomas (Round Rock, TX); by her granddaughter, Melissa Thomas; and by her "adopted" sons, Dale Watts & wife Beth (Robinson, IL) and Mike Flynn (Robinson, IL). Phyllis was born and raised in Robinson and attended Robinson High School. She would later further her education by earning an Associate of Applied Science in Office Careers: Information Processing from Lincoln Trail College in 1999. She stayed active in the Crawford County Farm Bureau and the James Halstead, Sr. Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, having been a member of both for many years. At home, she could often be found caring for the wild geese that frequently visited her farm. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. A time of visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 10th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will follow and will be held at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Saturday, with Rev. Tom Akers officiating the service. Burial will follow in the Robinson New Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Crawford County Spay & Neuter Foundation, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
