Ray Ridgley

Ray Ridgley, 71, of Robinson, IL, died on April 1, 2018 in the comfort of his daughter’s home in Greenwood, IN. He was born on May 26, 1946 in Vincennes, IN, the son of John Ray Ridgley & Marjorie (McMillen) Ridgley, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Karen Ridgley. He is survived by his daughters, Dawn & husband Steve Goff (Indianapolis, IN), Terrie Ridgley (Indianapolis, IN), and Debbie Ridgley-Cawood (Greenwood, IN); by his grandchildren, Kinsey (Goff) & Jordan East (Austin, TX), Alex Goff (Indianapolis, IN), Samantha Ridgley (Indianapolis, IN), and Emily Cawood (Greenwood, IN); by his brothers, Tom Ridgley (St Francisville, IL) and David Ridgley (St Francisville, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews. Ray was a 1965 graduate of St. Francisville High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1965-1969 before being honorably discharged as a sergeant. Upon his return, he went to work for Marathon Oil, where he worked for 32 years in the Maintenance Department before retiring in 1999. Outside of work, Ray spent much of his time collecting coins and diecast cars and was always looking for the next good deal on eBay. He was a collector of Corvettes as well and was both a founding member and lifetime member of the Crawford County Collectibles Car Club, where he served as treasurer for a time. He was also a member of the Robinson Masonic Lodge #250. He will long be a man of few words, but whose impact will be felt for years to come in the hearts of all who knew him. A time of visitation will be held from 3:00-5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 7th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. A memorial service will follow and will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with Celebrant Curt Goodwine officiating. Memorials may be made to the Crawford County Collectibles Car Club, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
