Robert Lee Nading

Robert Lee Nading, 58, of Lawrenceville, IL, died at 1:28 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2015 in his home in Lawrenceville. He was born March 20, 1957 in Palestine, IL, the son of Walter Emery Staten & Mary Ellen Barrick, the former having preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Alexander Lee Nading and by his brother-in-law, Russ Williams. He is survived by six daughters & sons-in-law, Julie Mikeworth (Robinson, IL), Nicole & Shane Wooten (TX), Audrey & Tye St. John (Paris, IL), Christina & Jimmy Tomlin (Paris, IL), Deanna Burris (Paris, IL), and Shay Nading (OK); two sons, Boua Spade (Vincennes, IN) and Chadd Richard Nading & wife Michelle (WA); many grandchildren; seven sisters & brothers-in-law, JoAnn & Steve Jefferson (MO), Lisa Marie & Mark Shook (Lawrenceville, IL), Bertha June & Tim Jones (Newton, IL), Cynthia Jean Kirk (Vincennes, IN), Ruth Rana Howe (Newton, IL), Billie Dawn Williams (Vincennes, IN), and Katrina Michelle & Johnny Thornton (Gas City, IN); a special uncle & aunt, Wayne & Joyce Barrick; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews. Robert served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Back stateside, he was a laborer, working for Local #1280. He was an ordained minister, and was part of Sonshine Network Ministries. He was also a member of the International Pentecostal Church, the Robinson V.F.W. Post#4549, the Robinson American Legion Post #69, and the Palestine AmVets Post #33. Robert spent much of his free time outdoors, and also enjoyed many family gatherings over the years. He will forever be remembered for his big heart and for the love he had for his family. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22nd at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. A memorial service will follow the visitation, and will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, with Pastor Paul Gray officiating the service. Military rites will be given by the Robinson V.F.W. Post #4549. Memorials may be made to the V.F.W. Transportation Fund, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
