Robert Rich

Robert Rich, 88, of Robinson, died at 9:45 p.m. (EST) on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. He was born January 20, 1927 in Stoy, IL, the son of Willy Ray Rich & Icadore Rood Rich, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Alice King, George Rich, Bonnie Weaver, Freddie Rich, Richard Rich, Billy Rich, Linda Rich, and Glen Rich. He is survived by his wife, Dema Frakes (Robinson, IL); daughter & son-in-law, Vanessa & Matt Phillips (Lewis, IN); his grandchildren, Ashton Myers and Vincent Myers; his brother & sister-in-law, John & Carolyn Rich (Willow Hill, IL); his brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Jack & Edna Frakes (Robinson, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews. Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Back home, he went on to work for Marathon Oil before retiring as an operator in 1986. His retirement was spent as “PaPaw”, a role that he loved and took to heart. Bob also volunteered time at the Robinson Food Pantry. He was a member of the Robinson Masonic Lodge #250. A time of visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 23rd at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will follow the visitation and will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jay Regennittor. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palestine. Memorials may be made to the Robinson Food Pantry, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
