Roger B. Inboden, 65, of Robinson, died Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born January 15, 1949 in Robinson, the son of Clifford E. Inboden, Sr. & Mary D. Rich Inboden. He graduated from Oblong High School in 1967. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War, where he was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army as part of the Airborne Pathfinder Long Range Reconnaissance-9th Infantry Division. He was awarded the Bronze Star, the Army Commendation Medal with a V-Device, the Air Medal with V-Device and four oak-leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Combat Infantry Badge, and much to the surprise to his friends, he received the Good Conduct Medal. Back stateside, he worked as a caster for Briggs Pottery in Robinson for 28 years and for the EH Baare Corporation in Robinson for 13 years. He was a member of the Robinson Elks Lodge #1188, and served as exalted ruler in 1999. At home, Roger loved working on computers, and had worked on several hundred over the course of his life. He is survived by his two sons, Johnathan and wife Jodi Garrard, and Brian Inboden; his sister, Patricia Rich; his brother, Robert D. Inboden and significant other Nancy Crabill; three grandchildren; as well as several nieces & nephews. Roger was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Denise King; and two brothers, Donald “Doc” Inboden and Clifford E. Inboden, Jr. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 27th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. A graveside service will follow the visitation and will be held at the Shire Cemetery, with Brad Harris to officiate the service. Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the Oblong American Legion Post #219. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
