Roger Lee Whipkey

Roger Lee Whipkey, 59, of Robinson, IL died at 3:49 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2012. He was born October 11, 1953 in Robinson, IL, the son of Sie J. Whipkey and Margaret Earleywine Whipkey. He was an operator at Marathon for 32 years, before retiring in 2009. He was a member of the Robinson First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, the Oak Glen Golf Course, and Quail Creek Country Club.Roger married Debra J. Salyer on August 6, 1979 and she survives. He is also survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Nathan & Cristina Whipkey (Wauconda, IL), Jared & Jenna Whipkey (Pace, FL); his grandchild, Camden Whipkey; his brother & sister-in-law, Stan & Ruth Ann Whipkey (Evansville, IN); his sister & brother-in-law, Greta and Tim Rich (Robinson, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson with Rev. Amy Wharton officiating. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 30th at the funeral home.
