Ron Condrey

Ron Condrey, 50, of Robinson died at 2:20 a.m. on Friday, March 1, 2013 in the comfort of his home after a long battle with cancer. He was born September 15, 1962 in Effingham, IL the son of €œSmitty€ & Susan (Ochs) Condrey. Ron worked as chief operator in the boilerhouse for Marathon Oil, a job he loved and was dedicated to. He was a softball enthusiast, especially enjoying fast-pitch softball. He also enjoyed gardening, a hobby fed by his love of flowers. In his free time, he spent time fishing and playing his guitars.On April 28, 2001, he married Amy (Ballard) and she survives. He is also survived by his parents; his son & daughter-in-law, Andrew & Jennifer Hargrave (Oblong, IL); his granddaughter, Morgan Clark; his sister & brother-in-law, Jill & Randy Nidey (Oblong, IL); his brothers & sisters-in-law, Donald Jay & Trudy Condrey (Robinson, IL) and Jon Allen & Joanna Condrey (Olney, IL); his mother-in-law, Leslie & her husband Mike Miller (Mt. Pleasant, IA); his father-in-law, Paul E. Ballard, Jr. (West Union, IL) & his significant other, Pam Warner (Marshall, IL); his grandmothers, Maxine Stepp (West Union, IL) and Lois Ochs (Newton, IL); his special uncles & aunts, Gene & Phyllis Ochs (Willow Hill, IL) and Charles & Melanie Guyer (Annapolis, IL); as well as several other uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Pat Ochs, Jim Stepp, and Hamlin €œH.G.€ Condrey; and his nephew, Josh Rodgers.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 4th at the West Union Christian Church in West Union, IL. Burial will be in the Harrison Cemetery, rural West Union. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 3rd at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Memorials may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society or to the Crawford County Forest Preserve, with envelopes available at the funeral home and the church.
