Ronald J. Freeman passed away Wednesday night in his sleep at 86 years of age at Burnsides Nursing Home in Marshall, IL. He was born September 26, 1928 in Ridge Farm, IL, the son of Loral Freeman & Irene Matthews Freeman. Ron was a loving and dedicated husband to Helen Freeman, having been married for 59 years before she passed away in January of 2010. He was also preceded in death by his parents; by his sister, Marilyn Hamm; and by his brother-in-law, Bill Hamm. He was a loving father to his son & daughter-in-law, Phil & Lorna Freeman, and always had time to spend with them. He was very proud of his grandsons, Travis Freeman and Brent Freeman, who both served in the U.S. Air Force. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Ron was a life-long farmer in the Hardinville area before retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Hardinville Christian Church and served his country in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953. It was Ron's wish to have a private family graveside service in the Hardinville Cemetery. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
