Rosa Johnson

Rosa Johnson, 88, of Palestine, IL, died at 10:29 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2015. She was born May 22, 1926 in Pompey's Pillar, MT, the daughter of Orvel Chester Wilson & Jennie Rebecca Shipp. She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, David & Alana Peterson (Billings, MT); her daughters & sons-in-law, Debbie & Danny Donlan (Fromberg, MT), Bernice & Kleiv Johnston (Lewistown, MT), and Autumn Bailey (Hazen, ND); as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John James Johnson; her parents; seven sons, Jerry Peterson, Allen Peterson, Walter Peterson, Clyde Peterson, Arnold Peterson, Phillip Peterson, and Justin Peterson; two sisters, Beulah Fisher and Pansy Crandall; and three brothers, Chester Wilson, Jasper Wilson, and Lester Wilson. Rosa did housework for many years, and was a longtime member of the First Christian Church in Palestine. A time of visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. A graveside service will follow the visitation ending at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday and will be held at the Palestine Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church in Palestine.
