Roy D. Miner, 90, of Robinson, IL died at 12:50 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Heritage Health (formerly Cotillion Ridge) in Robinson. He was born February 16, 1923 in Robinson, the son of Harry Miner and Gladys Brush Miner. Roy was a service man, working gas utilities for several years. Roy was a member of the First Christian Church of Robinson. He was also a past Moose Lodge member. Roy was a train and clock enthusiast who also enjoyed music and poetry. Roy married Pauline Larres on November 14, 1945 and she survives. He is also survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Ray & Donna Miner (Rantoul, IL); his daughter Jan Ayola (Parrish, FL); his granddaughters, Sarah Miner and Emily Drew; as well as several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Ray Miner, Charles Miner, O€™Dell Miner; and his sisters, Emma Miner, Clancie Brashears, and Almeda McDaniel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday September 13th, at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson with Pastors Tom Akers & Amy Wharton officiating. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 12th at the funeral home.
