Roy Don Stant, 82, of Annapolis, IL, formerly of Flat Rock, IL, departed this life and went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 12, 2017 at 3:56 p.m. (EST) at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. He was born May 29, 1934, the son of Roy G. & Goldia (Miller) Stant, both of whom preceded him in death. He married LaDonna Bonham on May 18, 1969, and she survives. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Roger Bonham (Atwood, IL) and Larry & Mary Jo Bonham (Palestine, IL); by his sister-in-law, Betty Powell (Palestine, IL); by his nephews, Patrick Bonham (Atwood, IL) and Jonathan Bonham (Champaign, IL); and by numerous cousins and friends. He was a 1954 graduate of Robinson High School. He furthered his education at Eastern Illinois University. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army before coming back home, where he worked hard on the farm and ran his own bulldozing business for many years. Through his bulldozing, Roy Don was instrumental in developing the Crawford County Speedway many years ago and also built countless area ponds. When he wasn’t working, he stayed active with the Crawford County Krazy Klowns, and was a member of the Ainad Shrine. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge for a time. He was an avid sports fan, and especially enjoyed watching the Indianapolis Colts. A time of visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19th at the funeral home with Ronnie Crawford officiating the service. Burial will follow in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, rural Annapolis, IL. Memorials may be made to the Pleasant Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
