Roy E. Fuqua, Jr., 83, of Robinson, IL, died Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. He was born January 26, 1933 in Martin, TN, the son of Roy E. Fuqua, Sr & Nannie Mae Kilgore Fuqua, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Joyce A. Poulsen on July 25, 1964, and she survives. He is also survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Mark Christopher & Teresa Fuqua (Fairland, IN); by three granddaughters, Sarah Fuqua (Brownsburg, IN), Gabriella Fuqua (Brownsburg, IN), and Addison Meier (Fairland, IN); by his brother & sister-in-law, John David & Penny Fuqua (Florida); as well as by several nieces and nephews. Roy was a 1951 graduate of Thorton Township High School. He went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Back home, he worked for Marathon (Complex 2) for 21 years before retiring in 1995. A time of visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 13th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson, with funeral services following at 2:00 p.m. A private burial will be held at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery (rural Annapolis, IL) at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
