Roy Gene Daniels

Roy Gene Daniels, 75, of Robinson, IL, died at 8:45 a.m. (EST) on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. He was born September 17, 1940 in Stockton, CA, the son of Lester & Wynema Daniels. After serving his country for three years in the U.S. Navy, Roy began working at Davey Tree Surgery Company in Livermore, CA until he retired in 2000. Following retirement, he and his wife moved to her hometown of Robinson, IL to care for her ailing mother. He is survived by his wife, Loretta (Gaddis) Daniels (Robinson, IL); by his children & their spouses, Kimberly Meier (Israel), Darrell & Brenda Daniels (Royal Oaks, CA), David & Gena Daniels (Royal Oaks, CA), Darin Daniels (Stockton, CA), and Michelle Daniels (Stockton, CA); by his step-children & their spouses, Tammy Jayne & Dwain Mendenhall (Oblong, IL), and Tad Frederick & Melanie Busey (Savannah, GA); by his brothers & sisters-in-law, Paul & Jenny Daniel (Mountain View, AR), Ray & Julie Daniels (Clovis, CA); brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Mark & Brenda Gaddis (Mount Carmel, IL); 19 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as his extended family, Terry & Tammy Thompson and their family. Roy is preceded in death by his parents; by his sister, Joyce Dutey; by his son, Donald Daniels; and by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Arthur & Alta Gaddis. It was Roy’s wishes to be cremated with no formal services. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
