Sarah F. Jones

Sarah F. Jones, 64, of Birds, entered Heaven on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at the Lawrence Community Health Center in Bridgeport, IL with her sister at her side. Sarah had been in poor health for several years. She was born August 20, 1948 in Vincennes, IN, the daughter of Clarence S. Jones & Merle F. (Sims) Jones. She enjoyed southern gospel music, and attended many events throughout her life. She was affiliated with the Birds Free Methodist Church.She is survived by her sister, Elaine Jones, with whom she made her home for the past 16 years; and three cousins, Vera Thompson (Birds), Tracey Lackey (Lawrenceville), and Carla Pendergrass (Evansville, IN); and many exceptional healthcare givers and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.It is requested that memorials be made to the Lawrence-Crawford Association for Exceptional Citizens. The family thanks everyone for their prayers, which is the best gift a person can receive.Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 22nd at the Jones Cemetery, rural Flat Rock. Pastor Roger Boyd and Ronnie Crawford will officiate. There will be no visitation. Friends will be asked to meet at the cemetery for graveside services. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Flat Rock is in charge of arrangements.
