Shannon E. Mckinley

Shannon E. McKinley, 71, of Lawrenceville, IL, formerly of rural Palestine, IL, died at 1:00 p.m. (EST) on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. She was born July 11, 1943 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of George Wallace & Edwina Shertzer Wallace. Shannon managed the Sullivan, IN Elks Club Restaurant for a time, and was member of the Palestine Outer West Market Church of Christ for a time and was currently a member of the Central Church of Christ in Vincennes. She will be remembered for the love she had for her family and for her delicious baking. She married Rudy McKinley on May 29, 1971, and he survives. She is also survived by her son, Dale & Debra K Harris (Terre Haute, IN), Keith David & Kimberly McKinley (Doans, IN), Melinda Eveland (Hutsonville, IL), Stephen McKinley (Palestine, IL); several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Bruce Wallace, Marjorie Wallace, and Dana Wallace. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 12th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Roger Wright to officiate the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the IU Methodist Pulmonary Transplant Center, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
