Shirley Ann Carver, 75 of Robinson, IL, formerly of Palestine, IL, died at 3:27 p.m. (E.S.T.) Friday, March 23, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, IN. She was born March 12, 1937 in Robinson, IL, the daughter of John William Badgley and Dorothy E. Crail Badgley. Shirley was a member of the Outer West Market Church, Palestine; was a clerk/carrier for the U. S. Post Office for 11 years, worked at the IGA for 11 years, and as a caregiver.Shirley married Paul €œJames€ Carver on July 2, 1955 and he preceded her in death on February 27, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and six brothers and sisters, Juanita Faeth, Robert William Badgley, Eugene Roe Badgley, Wanda Lea Bullock, Norma Carol Meskimen, and Kay Maurice Badgley.She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Cristen (San Diego, CA); her daughter and son-in-law, Bobbi and David Branson (Flat Rock, IL); 6 grandchildren, Sydney, Jackie, Max and Alexandra Carver and Lexi and Layni Branson; her sister, Eileen Bex (Palestine, IL); several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of friends at Brookstone Estates.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 27th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine with Rev. John Brand officiating. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 26th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the Outer West Market Church with envelopes available at the funeral home.
