Shirley Ann Evelin, 77 of Palestine, IL, died at 5:30 a.m. (EST), Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes. She was born April 24, 1935 in Cincinnati, OH, the daughter of Samuel Gilardi and Rose Agnes Sanfilippo. She was lunch supervisor at Lincoln Grade School and was a cook at Hardees for many years. Shirley married Ralph Dean Evelin on February 14, 1976 and he survives. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Ruth Gilardi; her sister, Rose Mary Malloni; two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Bob and Linda Smith and Albert Evelin; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Doris and Lawrence Alspach; daughter and son-in-law, Angie (Napier) and Bill Tovo; two sons and her daughter-in-law, Johnny and Melinda Napier and Mike Napier; one step-son, Henry €œHank€ Evelin; two step-daughters, Deana Tracy and Connie Hunsaker; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in her death by her parents, infant son, daughter, sister, and two infant great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 30th at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine with Rev. Paul Gray officiating. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 29th from 5:00 pm - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
