Shirley Ann Rice

Shirley Ann Rice, 77 of Robinson, IL, died at 11:56 p.m., EST, on Monday, July 22, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes. She was born October 27, 1935 in Jasper Co., IL, the daughter of Lee and Alice (Boldrey) Kasserman. She worked in sales in many businesses on the square in Robinson and was a member of a Canasta Group that played together since their teen years. Shirley was also active in social events at the Robinson Elks Club.Shirley married Bill L. Rice on June 2, 1971 and he survives. Also surviving are her 2 children Jody Moomaw Springer of Indianapolis, and James W. Lindsay and his wife Sharron of London, KY; her grandchildren, Ryan, and his wife, Tristan Springer of Chicago and Clay Springer, of Chicago, and Chalesa Lindsay of London, KY, 1 step son and spouse, Rick and Shelly Rice of Decatur, Illinois, 2 step daughters and spouses, Dianna and Bob Goad, Crown Point, Indiana and Angela and Larry Surer, Wheeler, Indiana and six step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister Rosalee Kasserman Shook.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson, with Paul Alumbaugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation will precede the service from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer€™s Association, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
