Stanley “Stan” B. Wallace, 73, of Marshall, IL, died at 8:44 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2016. He was born September 8, 1942 in West Union, IL, the son of Willard Wallace & Alberta Gideon Wallace (Powell), both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Michael Wallace; and by his half-brother, Charles Wallace. He is survived by his son, Stanley D. Wallace (Fairbanks, AK); by his daughter, Tammy Reynolds (Martinsville, IL); by his grandson, Cameron Aue; by his granddaughter, Nevaeh; by his siblings, Nadine Reinoehl (Palestine, IL), Lynnzay Wallace (Marshall, IL), and Melanie Crampton (Palestine, IL); by his half-brother, Willard Wallace, Jr. (Fairbanks, AK); by his half-sister, Melissa Kiarmen (Fairbanks, AK); as well as several nieces and nephews. Stan served nine honorable years in the U.S. Army. He served one year in Bangkok Thailand, and two years in Vietnam. He was an instructor for the Army at Fort Dix, NJ and a recruiter at Terre Haute, IN. He was a member of the Marshall VFW Post #5975 were he had served a term as quartermaster. He was also a member of the Clark County American Legion Post #90. After the army, Stan drove trucks for the Mason Dixon Tank lines, Marshall, IL, JI Case in Terre Haute, IN, and for Hitchcock Trucking in Casey, IL. He also worked as an operating engineer for Local #841. Stan worked several years in Alaska, as well as in Kazakhstan, Russia and Uzbekistan, Russia, for Parker Drilling. He also worked for Napors Drilling in Saudi Arabia. He was currently working in Texas. Stan was a member of the Shriners, and he belonged to the Masonic Lodge #133 in Marshall, IL. He was an avid motorcycle rider and was a member of Illinois ABATE, as well as H.O.G. motorcycle club, and the Spiritual Disciples a Christian motorcycle ministry. Stan had many close friends and will be dearly missed by all. A time of visitation will be held at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Home at 313 East Union St. in West Union, IL on Monday, May 9th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 10th at 10:30 a.m.., with Celebrant Curt Goodwine officiating the service. Burial will follow and will be held at the Walnut Prairie Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the VFW Transportation Fund, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
