Stanley R. Wheeler

Stanley Robinson Wheeler, 98 of rural Martinsville, IL, died at 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Palm Terrace Nursing Home, Mattoon, IL. He was born April 21, 1914 in rural West York, IL, the son of Charles Wheeler and Sarah Knapp Wheeler. Stanley was a farmer and a member of the Olive Branch Church. He married Helen Krise on October 2, 1938 and she preceded him in death on July 19, 1996. He was also preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Elbert, John and Murray Wheeler; and 3 sisters, Zola Stanfield, Charlotte Hubbard, and Josephine Craig.Stanley is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Teresa Wheeler, Hutsonville; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Raye and Morris Short, Annapolis, Kaye and Philip Helt, Decatur, and Debbie and John Veach, Rockville, IN; 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the Olive Branch Cemetery, rural Clark County, IL with Rev. Randy Nave officiating. The Prust-Hosch Funeral Home, West Union is charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Olive Branch Church.
