Susan Caraway Bills

Susan Caraway Bills, 59, of Palestine, IL, passed away at 6:55 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Carle Hospital in Urbana, IL. She was born July 3, 1956 in Pinckneyville, IL, the daughter of Kenneth & Opal (Cunningham) Caraway, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Aubrey Ann Conour and by her mother-in-law, Iona Bills. She married Larry Bills on July 14, 2001, and he survives. She is also survived by her children & their spouses, David & Daphne Conour (Stoughton, WI), Laura & Tony Osborn (Robinson, IL), Kim & Kenny Koch (Camdenton, MO), and Brian Bills (Kansas City, KS); by thirteen grandchildren; by four great-grandchildren (with one on the way); by her sister & brother-in-law, Regina & Dennis Luessenheide (Maryville, IL); by her brothers & a sister-in-law, Ken & Kathy Caraway (Atwood, IL) and Kirk Caraway (Indianapolis, IN); as well as several nieces & nephews. Susan was a 1974 graduate of Robinson High School. She went on to receive an associate’s degree from Lincoln Trail College. She was a homemaker, and loved her children and grandchildren dearly. They were truly a source of joy in her life. She also enjoyed NASCAR and drag racing, and could also be found watching the Pittsburg Steelers or the St. Louis Cardinals. She formerly attended Outer West Market Church of Christ in Palestine, IL. She will long be remembered for her kind, compassionate nature and for truly living out a life of faith. A time of visitation will be held from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 19th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday with Celebrant Curt Goodwine and her son, David Conour officiating the service. Cremation will follow the service. Memorials may be made to the Palestine Preservation Projects Society or to Autism Speaks, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
