Susan Jean Parish, 66, of Palestine, IL died at 2:53 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2017 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 16, 1951 in Robinson, IL, the daughter of George & Katherine (Kreisch) Kerr, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Noble Vernal Parish on December 7, 1973 and he survives. She is also survived by her children, Jesse & Jessica Parish (Merom, IN), Cynthia Campion (Paris, IL), Janice & Dan Szombathy (Wolcott, IN), Susan & Jason Petelle (Oaktown, IN), and Kyle Parish & Rebecca Brimberry (Robinson, IL); by her grandchildren, Dalton Parish, Isaiah Parish, Levi Kleinschmidt, Drake Kleinschmidt, Courtney Campion, Jon Campion, Abby Szombathy, Daniel Szombathy, Stephen Szombathy, Wendell Petelle, Alexis Petelle, Marissa Petelle, Noble Parish; and by her brothers, Steve Kerr and Mike Kerr. Sue grew up in Robinson and attended Robinson High School. She dedicated her life to caring for her home and family. She was an ace in the kitchen; her sweet tea was the stuff of legend and could make some of the best chicken and noodles you’ve ever tasted. Sue was a caretaker through and through. If she felt like she could help someone, she would, without regard to self. She exuded warmth, and was simply a kind soul. Her legacy of gentle strength will continue to live on through her beloved family, who will never forget her. A time of visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00p.m. on Friday, December 15th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday with burial following at Fuller Cemetery. Pastor Dan Szombathy will be officiating the services.
