Ted Mcnurlan

Ted McNurlan, 79, of West York, Illinois, died Tuesday, November 27 at the home of his daughter in Bloomfield, Indiana of brain cancer. Ted was born August 12, 1933 in Martinsville. Illinois, the son of John E. and O'Dell Brown McNurlan. He married Beulah L. Wilson on November 14, 1952 and she preceded him in death on August 12, 2003 after 50 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his parents, three sisters- Helen McNurlan. Nellie Hadley, and Evelyn Andrews, and one brother, Lester McNurlan. Also three great-grandchildren. He is survived by his sons, Michael (and Joy) McNurlan of Sandwich, IL, Dennis(and Rhonda) McNurlan of Beloit, WS and one daughter Connie Jordan of Bloomfield, IN. Also nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Ned and Leon and two sisters, Juanita Moody and Bonnie Bales. Ted was a dairy farmer for many years. He also worked a time at Bradford Supply in Robinson, Illinois. For the past 19 years he has worked for Quail Creek Country Club and Marathon Oil Refinerery of Robinson, keeping the grass beautifully mowed. Ted loved gardening, traveling, and the woods. He and Beulah spent many years traveling and making friends as 'Snow Birds' during the winters in their motor home. He realized a dream last year when he, daughter Connie and great grandson, Chase Jones took a train trip to Washington, Oregon, and California. They visited a favored niece, Nedra Callahan, saw the great Redwood trees and walked in the Pacific Ocean. He will be greatly missed by his family and many, many friends. There will be no funeral services. A memorial celebration will be held at a later date.
