Timothy "Tim" Loftis

Claude Timothy “Tim” Loftis, 59, of Robinson, IL, died at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 in an apparent oilfield accident. He was born May 11, 1956 in Robinson, IL, the son of Claud Loftis & Margaret Legg Loftis, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Cynthia Watts on December 8, 1979, and she survives. He is also survived by his son, Timothy Loftis (Robinson, IL); by his daughter, Samantha Loftis (Robinson, IL); by four grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary & Kay Loftis (Porterville, IL) and Jerry & Debbie Loftis (Robinson, IL); his sister, Nancy Osborn (Porterville, IL); as well as several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brothers, Terry Loftis and Larry Loftis. A man who was never one to spend time indoors, Tim spent most of his time outside, and worked in the oilfields for most of his life, namely for Pioneer Oil for the last 7 years. Most every spare minute of his free time was spent on his motorcycle, but he also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a former member of Robinson ABATE, and was also a member of the Robinson Masonic Lodge #250. He was a good, hardworking man, and will be missed by all who knew him. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 14th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Masonic rites will be given by the Robinson Lodge #250 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 15th at the funeral home with Bro. Joe Griffith to officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Restitution Cemetery, rural Casey, IL. Memorials may be made to the family.
