Vickie Jeannine Wilson, 65, of Robinson, IL, died at 7:50 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 peacefully in her home, following a brave and hard-fought battle with cancer. She was born on June 26, 1952 in Lawrenceville County, IL, the daughter of Ed & Naleta (Skinner) Blevins, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Denise King. She married Darrell Wilson on December 31, 1981, and he survives. She is also survived by her sons & daughters -in-law, J.D. & Jodi Garrard (Montgomery, IL) and Brian & Sylvia Inboden (Oblong, IL); by her 3 granddaughters, Nicole King & Colin Hunter (Charleston, IL), Brianna King (Hustonville, IL), and Kelsey & Luke Houser (Newton, IL); by her great-grandchild, Raiden Hunter; by her sister & brother-in-law, Sherry & James Skidmore (Robinson, IL); by her brothers & sisters-in-law, Kevin & Donna Blevins (Palestine, IL), and Mark & Heather Blevins (FL); by her special friends, Robbie & Henry VanWinkle; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Vickie was a kind, loving mother and grandmother who always thought of others, and she showed that love through her volunteer work. She took part of many local fundraising efforts such as the Relay for Life, the Alzheimer’s Walk and was an active member of the Misfits Group. She loved being a part of the Misfits group, a group that brought stockings, scarfs, and caps to people in need during the winter time. She also loved her animals. Her family and community truly lost a special soul in Vickie Wilson. A time of visitation will be held from 12:30-2:30 p.m. on Friday, September 8th at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Robinson. Funeral services will follow and will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the church, with burial following in the Palestine Cemetery. Pastor Mathew Jukola will be officiating the services. Memorials may be made to the Crawford Humane Society, with memorial envelopes available at the church. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
