Vina L. Hare

Vina Louise Hare, 92 of Palestine, IL, died at 4:25 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Ridgeview Care Center in Oblong, IL. She was born September 11, 1920 in Indianapolis, IN, the daughter of William and Georgia Rairdon McKay. She was a homemaker, a member of the Palestine First Christian Church, and the Palestine Preservation Society.Vina married August Hare September 28, 1941 and he preceded her in death on October 6, 1998. She was also preceded by her parents, her son, Steven Hare, her step-father, Elmer McGaughey, her brother, William McKay, and 4 step sisters. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Leah Hare, rural Flat Rock; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Leo Adams, Palestine and Susan and Ron Stout, Palestine; 4 grandchildren, Bryan Hare, Flat Rock, Penni and Monty Murray, rural Robinson, Alaina and Cole Heitz, Mt. Pulaski, and Rachel Stout, Evansville; 2 great grandchildren, Lily and Lucy Heitz, Mt. Pulaski; and her step-sister, Maxine Perkins, Roswell, NM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 13th at 2:00 p.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine with Rev. Dennis Steckley in charge. Burial is in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation is one hour preceding the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Palestine First Christian Church with envelopes at the funeral home.
