Wanda Murdock

Wanda Murdock, 87, of Palestine, IL, died on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. She was born October 13, 1928 in Oblong, IL, the daughter of Arthur Harris & Violet (Dunlap) Harris, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Raymond Murdock in 1947 and he preceded her in death on August 4, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Alberta (Harris) Murdock; by her brother, Eugene Harris; by her son, Kenneth Murdock; and by her daughter, Carolyn Sue Miller. She married Clifford Murdock on March 31, 2012 and he survives. She is also survived by her daughters, Shirley Miller (Hardinville, IL) and Rita & husband Skip Henderson (Palestine, IL); by her sons, Gary Murdock & wife Jackie (rural Robinson) and Larry Murdock (Palestine, IL); by eleven grandchildren; by several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; by her sister, Irene McCormick (Palestine, IL); as well as by several nieces and nephews. Wanda worked for various local companies over the years, most notably for Lexel Corp. in Hutsonville and for FairRite, where she worked in the press room for 10 years. When she wasn’t working, she could often be found tending to her flowers or traveling, especially to Florida. She was a very active member at Grace Chapel Church in Terre Haute, IN, up until the very end. A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 25th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Funeral services will follow and will be held at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. John Bigger officiating the service. Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery.
