Warren L. Jennings, 83, of Oblong, IL, died at 6:06 p.m. Tuesday, November 2009 at his residence. He was born May 16, 1926 in Terre Haute, IN, the son of George W. Jennings and Mamie E. Morton Jennings. He was a drafting supervisor at Marathon for 36 years retiring February 1, 1986. Warren served in the U. S. Air Force. He was a member of the Crawford County Historical Society, Crawford County Amateur Radio Club, and lifetime member of the Robinson Elks Lodge #1188. He taught drafting, blue print reading, and ham radio at LTC.Warren married Barbara Leggitt on May 31, 1953 and she survives. He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Galen Umfleet, Oblong; 4 grandchildren, Samantha Byrley and her husband Shawn, Robinson, Lyndsay Lack and her husband Thurion, Moberly, MO, Paul Williams, Oblong, Jenna Umfleet, Carterville, IL; 4 great grandchildren, Maddelyn Byrley, T. J. Lack, Elizabeth Lack, and Darcy Lack; and 2 sisters, Juanita Brown, Terre Haute, IN, and Wanda Hart, Yuma, AZ.He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Darrel Jennings.Funeral services will be held Friday, November 6, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson with Rev. Paul Gray officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palestine. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 5th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Crawford County Historical Society Roof Project with envelopes available at the funeral home.
