William “Bill” Ross, 76, of Robinson, IL was pronounced dead at 6:26 a.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2015 in the comfort of his home. He was born July 18, 1938 in Johnson County, IL. He married Barbara Hall on July 12, 1958, and she survives. He is also survived by his two sons, Craig S. & Jewell Ross (Loganville, GA) and Douglas A. Ross (Robinson, IL); and his grandchildren, Craig Stephen & Charlotte Ross (Chicago, IL) and Jennifer Ross (Charlotte, NC). He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Craig Crown. Bill was a 1956 graduate of Flora Township High School, and went on to attend David Rankin Trade School in St. Louis, MO. After briefly working for L.S. Heath and American Dairy, he started his own business, Ross Service Company, working commercial refrigeration from 1966 until retiring in 2013. In his later years, he enjoyed going to the library, where he would check out various fiction, especially westerns. A time of visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1st at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 2nd at the Union Chapel Cemetery, rural Dix, IL, with Pastor Jay Regennitter officiating the service. Memorials may be made to the Robinson Public Library, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
