William Luther Gray

William Luther Gray, 82, of Hutsonville, IL died at 6:45 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2013 in the comfort of his home surrounded by family. He was born on October 3, 1931 in Hutsonville, the son of Gerald Gray & Lois Reynolds Gray. He served his country in the U.S. Navy as member of the Seabees, the Navy€™s Construction Battalion from 1950-1953. While in the Navy, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord & Savior and was baptized in 1951. In 1949, he came on as an operating engineer with Local #841 IUOE ' Terre Haute, and eventually served as an Officer of the Executive Board. A 32nd Degree Mason, he was a member of the York Lodge #313 as well as the Danville Consistory. Over the course of his 82 years, he was able to put on the title of auctioneer, fireman, locksmith, as well as televison & radio repairman.On August 7, 1951, he married Marcella Strole, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage, and she survives. He is also survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Mike & Marcia Gray (Hutsonville, IL); his two daughters & sons-in-law, Sandy & Terry Weaver (West Union, IL) and Lisa & Greg Siverly (Hutsonville, IL); three grandchildren, Chad & wife Stephenie Weaver, Kerri Pruitt and Andy Gray; as well as six great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and his grandson, Trevor Siverly.Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19th at the Hutsonville Cemetery, with Pastor Rick Catt to officiate the service. Military and masonic services will also be conducted. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Lincolnland Hospice with envelopes available at the funeral home.
