William Martin Mckay

William Martin McKay, 94, died at 7:30 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2012 at the home of his daughter in Venice, FL. He was born April 6, 1918 in Indianapolis, IN, the son of William McKay and Georgia M. (Rairdon) McKay McGaughey. He was a captain in the Army Air Corp, retired president of H & H Book Binding; and 32nd Degree Mason in the Indianapolis Masonic Lodge. Bill married Velma €œIrene€ Mikeworth on December 7, 1940, and she survives. He is also survived by 4 daughters and 3 sons-in-law, Linda and Jack Ramsey, Venice, FL, Margaret and Robert Schwarz, Indianapolis, IN, Patricia McKay, Venice FL, and Melissa and Thomas Fawcett, Oviedo, FL; his sister, Vina Hare, Palestine; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; step-sister, Maxine Perkins, New Mexico; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Elmer O. McGaughey; his daughter, Nancy Eans Dynak; his half-brother, Frank McKay; and 4 step-sisters, Ethel Brinkmann, Ruth Sowels, Pauline Unger, and Mary Ellen Roth.Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Palestine Cemetery on Wednesday, May 30th. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine on May 30th. Pastor Dennis Steckley is in charge of the services.
