Zelma J. Mckeighen

Zelma J. McKeighen, 87, of Robinson, IL, died at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, December 14, 2015 at Heritage Health in Robinson. She was born November 29, 1928 in Lawrenceville, IL, the daughter of William J. Heath & Florence Edna Martin Heath, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Tom McKeighen on August 30, 1952, and he preceded her in death on November 10, 1999. She was also preceded in death by a son, James Mark McKeighen; by two sisters, Thelma Liston and Wanda Byers; and by her brother, Roger Heath. Zelma is survived by her daughter, Debby Hayden (Robinson, IL); by her two sons, Thomas Michael McKeighen (Robinson, IL) and David Paul McKeighen (Robinson, IL); four grandchildren, Michelle Brown (Darien, IL), Susanne Hayden (Joliet, IL), Amy & Erin Siskorski (St. Louis, MO), and Tommy McKeighen (Moreno, CA); one great-grandson, Jack Brown; by her sister, Joan Carrell (Robinson, IL); as well as several nieces & nephews. Zelma’s life revolved around her home and her family. She worked tirelessly as a homemaker and mother, roles that she took very seriously. She lived a very simple, but very fulfilling life. A time of visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will follow and will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, with Celebrant Curt Goodwine officiating the service. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery in Lawrenceville, IL. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
