Zelma I. McNabb, 102, of Robinson, IL died at 5:15 a.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2018 in the comfort of her home in Robinson, IL. She was born on July 3, 1915 near “Cracker Neck”, south of Vandalia, IL, the daughter of John Franklin Miller & Etta Mae Eveland Miller. The third child of ten, Zelma grew to become a loving wife and wonderful, caring mother of three children. She was also very devoted to her siblings, and enjoyed spending time with her brothers and sisters, sharing all their family experiences. Zelma will be remembered as a quiet woman who was a wonderful cook and an even better wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She married Frank H. McNabb on June 16, 1934 and he preceded her in death in 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents; by her sisters, Verna, Neva, Bernice, Doris, and Bernadeen; by her brothers, Leon, John Albert, and Loren; and by her grandson, Kelley Finney. She is survived by her son, Richard McNabb (Robinson, IL); by her daughters & sons-in-law, Shirley & Gene Finney (Robinson, IL) and Anita & Sonny Potts (Lawrenceville, IL); by her four grandchildren, Pam Keating (Louisville, KY), Dana Finney (Greenwood, SC), Jason Potts (Casey, IL), and Kurtis Potts (Lawrenceville, IL); by 7 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; by her brother & sister-in-law, Bob & Pat Miller (Indianapolis, IN); by her half-brothers and sisters, Patty Potter (Flat Rock, IL), Dave & Phyllis Miller (Flat Rock, IL), Betty & Billy Lindsay (Flat Rock, IL), Jack Miller (Flat Rock, IL), and Susan & Randy Burtch (Robinson, IL); as well as many nieces and nephews. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date at the Jones Cemetery (rural Flat Rock, IL). The Goodwine Funeral Home in Flat Rock is in charge of arrangements.
