James M. Goodwine

Past President - Funeral Director

Jim is a third-generation funeral director with Goodwine Funeral Homes. He attended Palestine High School and graduated in the Class of 1952. He went on to attend the University of Illinois and received a BS in Marketing from the College of Business in 1956, before graduating from the Indiana School of Mortuary Science in 1957. Jim served in the U.S. Army Reserves, and trained in Fort Lee, Virginia. He returned to Palestine, where he and his father, James E. Goodwine, were in business together until his father's death in 1987. He currently lives in Palestine with his wife Jane. They are the proud parents of three children, Doug, Scott, and Deb; five grandchildren, Curt, Nic, Grant, Kayla, and Jacob; and eight great-grandchildren.

James Douglas Goodwine

President - Funeral Director

Doug is a fourth-generation funeral director with Goodwine Funeral Homes. He attended Palestine High School and graduated in the Class of 1980. He went on to attend Vincennes University and graduated with a degree in Mortuary Science & Funeral Services. Returning to Crawford County, Doug carried on the family business and is currently the President of Goodwine Funeral Homes. He stays involved with his community as a member of many local organizations. He and his wife, Michelle live in Robinson, where they raised their sons, Curt and Grant. Recent years have found him enjoying time with his granddaughters, Ava, Emily and Lettie.

James Curtis Goodwine

Vice President - Funeral Director - Certified Celebrant

Curt is the fifth generation of the Goodwine family to provide the community with compassionate service. He, alongside his wife, Amanda, is dedicated to serving Crawford & Clark Counties. A graduate of the Robinson High School Class of 2006, he went on to graduate from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mortuary Science & Funeral Service. He is also a Certified Celebrant and performs "celebration of life" services for many of the families he serves. Curt & Amanda were married on January 18, 2014, and reside in Robinson with their three beautiful daughters, Ava, Emily, and Lettie.

Amanda Lance Goodwine

Funeral Director

Amanda is a 2007 High School graduate of the International School Bangkok, Thailand, and completed her bachelor's degree in Mortuary Science at Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2011. She is the first generation in her family to begin a career in Funeral Service. After serving her apprenticeship in Southern Illinois, she moved to Robinson to work for Goodwine Funeral Homes in November 2012. She later married Curt Goodwine in 2014, and together, they helped to continue the legacy of family commitment to Crawford County. Curt and Amanda reside in Robinson with their three beautiful daughters, Ava, Emily, and Lettie.

Angela Stumborg

Funeral Director

Angela is a 2012 graduate of Dieterich High School; she went on to graduate from Southern Illinois University- Carbondale in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in Mortuary Science & Funeral Services. She moved to Robinson to work for Goodwine Funeral Homes in July 2017. Angela resides in Robinson with her husband, Joshua, and children, Madison and Marcus.

Lisa Jacobs

Secretary

Lisa Jacobs is a lifelong resident of Crawford County. She grew up next door to our funeral home in Flat Rock before graduating from Robinson High School in 1988. She would go on to earn a clerical/secretarial AAS degree from Lincoln Trail College, and has put it to great use since joining the funeral home in 2013. Away from work, she and her husband Jay enjoy taking to the open road on their motorcycle. A lover of photography, she can often be found behind a camera; her daughters (Emily and Addy Paddock) and grandchildren (Brylee, Timmy and Reed) are but a few of her favorite subjects!

Chloe Koester

Funeral Director Intern

Born and raised in Effingham, Illinois, she graduated from Effingham High School in 2022. Following high school, she attended Lake Land College in Mattoon, where she earned an Associate Degree in Bioscience. She continued her education at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, pursuing a career in funeral service. In May 2026, she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Mortuary Science and Funeral Service. In December 2025, she moved to Oblong, Illinois, with her fiancé, Kenny, and began working with Goodwine Funeral Homes while completing her degree.

She is currently a licensed apprentice at the funeral home, working to become a fully licensed funeral director and embalmer.
